Safety
Kawaihae OCC is affiliated with the Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA) and abides by the policies of AOCRA in relation to safety and risk management. In addition, all of Kawaihae members receive personal insurance for outrigger activites through the national association. Kawaihae equipment is also fully insured for your safety and the safety of others.
It is a condition of membership that members complete a 50m swim, 5 minute tread water and undertake a practice huli (capsize) drill. Please see one of the club committee members if you have not yet undertaken one of these safety tests.
